News and a Photo

Posted Jul 7, 2011 9:52am
Once again, I'm back at home in Mpls. There is little new news to post, Sarah is still having very difficult mornings and better afternoon and evenings. Yesterday afternoon she managed to get outside with Dad to the courtyard and enjoy some fresh air and green surroundings. I think the mobility and change of scenery does her a world of good. I know when we talk about events or chat with the Docs, it is often hard to remember what day of the week it is, or when something happened-- yesterday? two days ago? last week? The room, the view, the food, and the visitors(!) never change, the therapists and nurses change constantly. There is little to mark the passage of one day as different from the next. Perhaps we can begin to explore the grounds to find some new and interesting places to pass the waiting days. As for the visitor portion, many have asked about when/if Sarah will be able to have visitors. At this point she is too up and down to be comfortable with anyone coming up. Additionally, she is at risk for picking up a virus that might jeopardize the transplant, and this just adds to her anxiety. So in the meantime, email, texts or posts she can read are all great ways to communicate with her. I'm posting a picture from yesterday of her outside with Dad. Enjoy.
